With more than 27 years of professional experience, Jorge M. Planas has had the opportunity to work on innovative, award-winning projects throughout the world. Many of the projects he has contributed as a designer have been published and served as models in academia. His personal experience varies from regional planning, urban revitalization to site-specific master plans, resort designs, code writing, as well as architectural, interior and landscape designs.

Mr. Planas is a principal at Casa Landmark - an urban and residential design firm that specializes in creating exciting, diverse, and vibrant homes, buildings and communities. Previous to Casa Landmark, Mr. Planas was a founding member of DPZ Latin America (DPZ LA), later rebranded as Urban Environments Design Group, (UEDG). Mr. Planas was key in the production of a body of work demonstrating a level of expertise within the field of Urbanism, Architecture and Project Implementation. Before then, Mr. Planas worked alongside famed international architects and planners Elizabeth Plater-Zyberk and Andres Duany for over ten years at Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company (DPZ).

Over the years, Mr. Planas has had compassion for Miami’s historic legacy. Serving on the MiMo Biscayne Association as a guiding board member to Miami’s only historic district. In addition, having lived nearly twenty years in Miami’s Upper Eastside Bayside Historic District, Mr. Planas was often called on to critique the projects within these and other historic neighborhoods so that new development would be sympathetic to its context and surroundings. In his practice, he worked on several home renovations and additions adding his expertise for respecting the architecture details within these historic communities.

Mr. Planas is well versed in the design and detailing within all aspects of urban planning: from platting of parcels, design of streetscape, detailing of civic spaces, code writing, creation of guidelines, and the design of all building typologies - residential of all density levels, civic, religious, commercial, etc. Mr. Planas is skillful in designing homes and other spaces outside of the conventional thought, allowing a higher quality user eperience. Aside from his capacity as an experienced designer, Mr. Planas has lead multiple teams of professionals and staff to create the projects under his portfolio.
